Carol
W. Wood has practiced estate and trust law in Sarasota since 1988
and is AV-rated by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. She graduated
with honors from the State University of New York in 1976 with
a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and was admitted to candidacy
for a Master of Arts degree in English, having attained a 4.0 grade
point average for her coursework. She received her Juris Doctor
degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1988. At Stetson,
she was Notes Editor on the Stetson Law Review and winner of the
Elizabeth M. Leeman Award. She has been a member of the Florida
Bar and the U. S. District Court, Middle District of Florida since
her admission to practice. Carol is a member of the Florida Bar
Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, a Master Emeritus
of the Judge John M. Scheb American Inn of Court and
a former Chairperson
of The Florida Bar Twelfth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee.
She is also a member of the Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council
Executive Committee, past Director and past Probate Section Chairperson
of the Sarasota County Bar Association and a past Director of the
Sarasota Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
